Play Area

The Parish Council maintain the children's play area located on the Ailwyn Field, alongside the Bowling Green.  It can be found off Hall Drive along the drive which leads to the village hall.  Visitors can park at the village hall.  There is an enclosed play area as well as a grassed area with football goals and a basketball net and table tennis table.

The play area is regularly inspected by the council as well as having a yearly inspection by a fully qualified inspector. If a member of the public wishes to report any damage to the play area please contact the clerk.

Defibrillator

The village has a defibrillator which was installed in 2016. Members of the Parish Council organised fundraising and together with donations from many parishioners, local businesses, local groups and the Parish Council enough money was raised to purchase the defibrillator.

The defibrillator is situated on the wall of the offices of Smiths of Honingham. Enter the car park for the Honingham Buck pub and look to the right hand side towards the overspill car park and you will see a yellow box mounted on the wall.

Several Honingham residents have been trained to use the defibrillator and administer CPR – however in an emergency don’t wait for a local resident to attend, should you suspect someone is having a heart attack, dial 999 immediately. Tell the operator you are in Honingham and know where the defibrillator is, the operator will give you a code to access the defibrillator. The defibrillator is so easy to use it talks you through what to do!

A group of volunteers meet on a Sunday once every two months. Volunteers meet at the village hall at 10am and go around the whole village, taking about an hour. They use equipment bought by the Parish Council including bin bag hoops and hi-vis vests. About 10 bags of rubbish are collected each time.

If anyone wants to join in please email the Parish Clerk.

Phone Box

In May 2016 the Parish Council officially opened the village phone box with the help of Radio Norfolk's Treasure Quest. The unused phone box was purchased by the Parish Council and refurbished with the help of volunteers to become a village focal point and source of information. The phone box holds information on the history of Honingham, as well as being a free book swap. Come along and take a look and why not leave us a comment in the comments box.
